Microsoft Powerpoint Activities

 

     Among all the activities we had in ICT subject, this is the activity that I had enjoyed so much. Though it was hard at the start, but because of the fun it brings, I was able to happily finish it.This activity really helped me to become literate more on computer works. I have really learned a lot, promise! =) =)

Microsoft Excel Activites

    

     When we had our activity about Microsoft Excel, I find it easy at first but as I went working with it, I faced a difficulty. I spent a long time in making a formula in the grade computation. I almost wanted to quit making it but I know that I really have to go on. Luckily, I was helped by my friend and I have successfully finished the activity. Through the activity I have learned many things about Excel.

Microsoft word activities

     When we had our activities about Microsoft word, I find it interesting and fun. I also find it helpful for me because I can really use this one in my future career. The activity helped me enhance my skills in computer works. This activity had added my knowledge in using the Microsoft and it made me feel good.

Typing Master Pro

     Typing master pro is described in the net as a powerful typing tutor that enables easy instruction of the touch typing technique to a large amount of users in multiple groups.When we had our activity about this, I enjoyed it so much even if it is accompanied with a great pressure on my part. It was hard to type many words in a short period of time. In the activity, my speed and accuracy was really tested. I can say that the activity had somehow enhanced my typing skills.

Typing Test Activity

     The graph above shows my WPM result in the Typing Test activity we had. As you can see, I got low in the Net WPM. I think this happened because of the pressures I felt during the activity. The pressure of the given time and the pressure of the words are the great reasons why I failed to make it high.

Uploading and Downloading

     Uploading, as defined in Wikipedia, is the sending of data from a local system to a remote system. While downloading means receiving a data to a local system from a remote system.

     When we had our report, (with uploading and downloading as our topic) we really prepared for it. In fact, we prepared video clips about the steps on how to upload and download. Unfortunately, when we tried to search that saved video clip, it is nowhere to be found. So, we looked for a way to alleviate that problem. We searched for videos in YouTube and present it in the class. To summarize, we had a good report even if we had encountered a problem in the start.

What are the principal ethical concerns I should be conscious of in the use of Information Technology?

     Information Technology brings many benefits to us people living in this digital world today. It is entailed with fast access to everything in this world. In the use of IT, people should not think only of the positive things it brings but also, awareness of the consequences of the irresponsibility in using this must also be given concern. Everything requires great responsibility and IT is one of those.

   
     In the use of IT, we should be conscious on several ethical concerns it implies. Based on the sharing we had with my classmates, being RESPONSIBLE is the main ethical concern. Responsibility here means a great thing. It means being accountable for everything you have posted on the internet
   
     The use of IT also affects our own identities, so, being tactful greatly matters. In posting something on the internet, our words somehow show who we are. We should be aware of the words we use because even if they are lifeless, they are still able to change many things. The power that the word has in building a relationship is the same power in breaking that relationship down. We should really carefully think of the words we would use before we post them.

     Another ethical concern is RESPECT. Respecting others and respecting yourself are the things emphasized here. We will first discuss the latter-mentioned. "Respect yourself if you want others respect you." This means that when you post or share your photos, videos, or anything about you, you should see to it that your identity is not ruined. The same thing you should do to others, you should also be very careful in posting or sharing about them. Another thing that shows respect to others is the respect given to their properties, and respect even to their ideas. If we get something from them, their ownership should be acknowledged to avoid being charged with plagiarism.

     Open-mindedness is one also of the concerns here. We should accept other people's comments about us openly without thinking on how could we give our attack to them. We should better accept those comments, continue the good ones and change the bad ones for the better.

     Consciousness of the ethical concerns in the use of IT brings good not only to ourselves but to others as well.
